okay, I got a new gaming system with vista home premium with SP1, now when I wan't to install the halo ce v1.08 patch thingie, it sais halo isn't installed on my system. I've tried the "run as admin thing" and I don't see why I can't run it, I 'm the admin of the computer so wtf is going on. any help would be greatly appreciated. oh forgot one thing, I did disable the UAC thing or whatever so that's not the issue, does vista just hate CE?

Have you installed Halo on the C: drive, or some other drive? I think that may be a problem with the patches ability to detect the game, but it should be able to. Also, disable UAC, and see if that works. The reason why you must run as admin, is because it normally doesn't do it. That's one thing that Vista did do correctly, which makes it unable for programs to change processes without consent, but it sure bothers the heck out of us. So turn it off, and see if it runs. Reboot required.

Yep it's on the C: drive and yes, I did disable the UAC, today, and I haven't restarted so I may have to find out later. thanks tho.
