This made me LOL:
Quote: The Halo CE Community is in petition against Bungie, LLC. to create a compatible version of Halo Custom Edition for Linux users. This would result in a bigger fan base, more customers, and a better chance of reaching world domination. We feel if you are a good company you would realize the need to support other operating systems and hardware. I know myself as a programmer that it would not at all be hard to compile the game for Linux, Why haven't you?

It will be hard to make the Linux version communicate with the Windows version cause you'd have to write in twice the amount of coding to get it [Halo 1.5] cross platform. or better yet, make a Linux to Linux only version with netWork for object syncing, but this would be a total waste of Bungies' budget.

And very late post: Linux does have viruses, about 40, but they're all immunized and EVERY back door into Linux requires physical possession of the hardware to access.

You'd have to manually turn on your computer and manually command the GRUB to boot into rootMode.

so linux doesn't have viruses ANYMORE...

Not really. If you are good with Python Scripting, you won't even have to make a disk for it. You would only need the code. [Serial]. Then when Bungie ports it [Which shouldn't be too hard], they can host the game on a server for Linux, and they can go online to the site and download it. Easy as pie. and i leik pi

Wait, so what you're both saying is that they'd have to make a new server just fr the Linux version of Halo? I wouldn't think so, because they made the mac version and that (as far as I know, don't have it myself) seems to work fine with the Windows servers. And I don't think they'd have to recode too much, just create codes that are needed and add current coding from the game to it, I think that Linux is C based (not sure though).

Linux is all C based. Im not saying it wouldn't be hard to Port the Game, but it wouldn't be that complicated for the Moderate C user.
