In the Command Prompt go to the main Halo directory. In the root directory is where all the Halo tools exist, there should be a program file called tool.exe.

Typing just tool.exe at the Command Prompt and hitting Enter will show all the available command line parameters as well as the usage and syntax options.

The command line that will be used in the following example is "build-cache-file" and it has the following syntax:

i cant figure out how to do this and i need help on how to do it

Open up command prompt. Go to start>all programs> accesories> comand prompt. It will open up a window with a black screen where you can type stuff. Type in the halo ce directory. it should be "C:/program files/microsoft games/halo ce" then space, then "tool ".
*

From here you can type any tool command and it'll do cool stuff, like "build-cache-file " then the directory of your map within the halo ce tags tirectory like "levels/test/mymap " then the scenario name like "mymap", and it'l automatically build you map and put it in your maps folder, ready to be played in halo ce.

* some command prompts, like mine are screwed up and may not let you type in the exact directory of halo ce. Mine, for instance, only let me type in directories in C:/documents and settings. To fix this, or just make tool easyer, go to start> search and search "cmd". It'l find the command prompt program somewhere in windows/system 32 i think. Copy that into your halo ce directory. Now when you run that copy, it should automatically start in your halo ce directory and you can just type "tool " and then a command.

Typeig just tool will give tou a list of all the commands available and how they work, but some can be alittle hard to understand. The most important ones are "structure" and "build-cache-file".
