to upload, follow this:

1.save the picture
2.go to /http://imageshack.us
3.put the the link by pressing the bottom near the first long box.
4.press "host it!"
5.wait few moments
6.copy the link in the page that is for posting pictures on forums
7.paste it on a post and post it
8.now you know how to post pictures! woohoo!

Or, instead of saving a file. Right click it, and in the little menu, select "Copy Image Location". On a Mac you may need to hold Ctrl (Control) and click.
type where you wan't the picture:

[/ url] (take out the spaces)

then in the middle, press Ctrl + V (On a mac go to Edit, Paste) and an address will appear.

*The address should be here*[/ url]

remember to take out those spaces.

Sounds like youre an AI master type person, with some basic editing skills tossed in...

Valuable to anyone wanting to make SP maps.

Just cuz it basic dont mean everyone knows how to do it =)

That's a winner.

l283023, stop calling people names, even if you are only hinting at it.

If you knew anything about HEK, then you would know that all of things that he said that he could do, were childs play. Any moron could do that...
Most likely even you =/

That wasn't a hint. He called him a moron, only he phrased it differently.

Kazunekun: Give up hope. AI will never sync 100% percent. Unless you can change the netcode somehow, you will not make AI sync.

If you're making an SP map, you don't need to make the AI synchronize, as SP maps are always played offline.

He is now? I guess I couldn't have put it better than you.

See what I mean?

That's what I call hinting :| I'm stupid though, so don't mind me.

Anyway, what happened to this team? Any progress? Who're the members?

Well ai dont sync for simple reason dealin with the spawn points and I got a feeling it more on the lines of whenever you join a game with ai the spawn points for each unit when they die and respawn are confused between server and client because it is random respawn.. please correct me if im wrong on this but i believe this is how it works is it not?
Edited by Kazunekun on Nov 2, 2008 at 07:55 AM

The state of each AI biped is not synced across the network, period. There is no way to make them sync at all.

Oh, and it's way more than just spawn points. Not only do they not spawn in the same spawn points, but where and when they move, what they say, where they look, who they target, when they shoot, just about everything that they do is not synced.

The only thing that syncs about AI bipeds or just plain bipeds is this: when you join a server hosting an AI map, you sometimes see what looks like uncontrolled bipeds just sitting there that you never can kill. That is actually the server updating the client on the existence of that biped on the server side, meaning updating its health as well. But that's it. It only updates whether it exists or not, not its position, not its state, nothing. The reason why you can't kill those strange bipeds is because on the server side they're not at that position. If you were to, by chance, shoot at a blank space where the AI is on the server side and kill the server side AI, then your biped would finally die. That is the only tiny tidbit of syncing that the net code actually does perform, but that's it.

The AI that you do see being controlled and acting properly are merely your own instance of the AI, which is local to your instance of the game only and does not exist the way you see it on anyone else's screen.

So, no, it's not possible.

Hmm that interesting I realized that other factors were involved but i thought that spawn points were more important or at least the most important part of the ai syncing >..> this idea made my ai map take 3 days instead of maybe 3 hours worth of work >..>)

Well thanks for hte information on the AI ^.^ I still try to find another way to sync Ai .. Eh I'm sorry but I'm just incredibly stubborn (I dont like to give up)

All the same this is getting completely off topic so.. maybe we should try to get back on topic xD
Edited by Kazunekun on Nov 2, 2008 at 01:17 PM

That topic has been covered before:

AI has not been made to sync in the past 8-6 or so years Halo PC and CE have been out and no one has found a way to do it. If it were going to happen it would have happened already.

lmfao if it goin to happen woudl of happen already >.> you sound like a scientist and although it quite possible scientists thought Pluto was a planet for hte passed w/e and now they dont know wtfrick Pluto is >.< that syncs AI =3 but their alot fo things you can do even when you say everything been tried before... well that not possible seeing as everything is infinite ^.^
Edited by Kazunekun on Nov 2, 2008 at 08:49 PM

Okay. Here's how you sync AI: Go ahead and learn how to program in C++ and reverse engineer Halo's source code, edit its net code to fully synchronize AI to clients, and then distribute the modified engine to enough websites to gain popularity while avoiding getting sued by Microsoft.

Of course it's possible. But you must be insane to try it. The point is, it will require modifying the game engine itself, and unless you're an experience programmer, you're not going anywhere with this, especially with all of the legal issues.

Oh my, if even i can do it then it must be incredibly easy.

Its this simple. The coding for halo is not designed to sync AI. The game Engine JUST DOES NOT DO IT. ITs possible to reconstruct the engine. It could be whatever you want it to be at that point. But it would be hard to distribute it. And Bungie, Microsoft, and Gearbox would sue the living crap out of you. I can't make that clearer.

Its possible to make AI have duplicate actions, shoot the exact same AI in the Same pre programed spaces. and even that is sketchy. Its laggy and won't always work right. as you can see, it is NOT POSSIBLE. sorry to burst your bubble.

Actually, Halo CE Isn't an offically supported wing of Halo.

Its owned by microsoft aswell, but the other person was Gearbox Studios. Halo was and is originally a console game - people like me know that for sure. And so Gearbox steped in to help with the PC releases. Bungie didn't have much to do with Halo CE, it was more of Gearbox's thing and it is currently not an offically supported halo game. Bungie has forums for it, and we get patches because one of the Bungie workers who still care about us has the build machine for the game under his desk and not in some Microsoft vault.

When Gearbox made this spinoff edition, they had strict sets of what they wanted done, and though syncing AI over multiplayer is something they may have liked, it couldn't be done. Not with what they had to cram together onto the halo disc. Plus, computer technology wasn't as advanced now as it was then: when was it made, 2000? 2005? 3 years can prove for alot of computer advancement.

All i am saying, is that you should go to Microsoft, as Bungie won't play TOO big of a role here.

If they let you through with it, you could rebuild the Halo engine, for alot of things. Not just AI syncing over Multiplayer, but way more advanced mapmaking things. So far as, Online Co-Op anyone? I don't know, but i say: if its something you wan't to do, and you wan't to try, and you are sure microsoft, gearbox, and bungie aren't going to collectively sue the hat off your ass, i will be proud to be one of the first to download your new halo and help promote it.

Enough of my Motivational Speeches. I mostly want to say is that you should talk to Microsoft, but Bungie might still be a good first stop. Afterall, they made the game.
