i was compling a map and i got this error

bitmaps: Tried to add item weapons\assault rifle\fp\bitmaps\assault rifle_fp__pixels with different size (174776) than expected (131072).

i replaced they bitmap with an other assult rifle bitmap i made
its demisions are 512x512
IT HAS NO ALPHA and neither did the orginal AR bitmap
i didnt get any errors when i tured the tiff into a .bitmap tag

Your map compiled didn't it? Whenever I change my string lists, that comes up.

Basically, I think it worked.

That error itself doesnt mean anything (its just noting its a differnt size than bitmaps.map.. the isue is, after that, it does the same thing it always does, it asociates that link with the one in bitmaps.map to reduce your map files total space.)

Anyways, just rename the bitmap and then change the shader to go to that new bitmap, and then your problem is solved. (either that, or hex edit bitmaps.map so it doesnt referance the AR fp to there instead.. but editing tags is quicker and easier for you to understand)
