Every since getting my new computer which has Vista 64 installed my Halo and Halo CE will crash after a few minutes of playing them. Has anyone else gotten this problem or know how to fix it? I have gone to ATI's website and downloaded the latest drivers. My rig specs are here:

Hard Drive:
Dual 300 GB

Video Card:
ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 MB

Monitor:
19 inch LCD

Sound Card:
Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)

Speakers/Headphones:
Sony Headset

Keyboard:
Ergonomic Keyboard

Mouse:
PS2 Optical Mouse

Mouse Surface:

Operating System:
Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 64 Bit

Thanks in advance.

Does Halo even work on 64-bit machines? I can swear I thought it was 32-bit only.

Well since I can't play it maybe that is the case. I sure hope they patch it. I even took out the video card and used the on board video card and it still crashed. Thanks for the reply.

I use 64bit Vista, it works fine.
Try turning off some of the cores. So it is just running on one.

Nope, it works fine on this lovely machine here, same dual core, but I has 8 GBs of ram :P and nvidia geforce 9500 GT graphics card, 500 GB HD, etc.

its probly the antialasing thats stoping you from loading it.. try messing with your graphics card settings.

I have the same quad core and I can run it without turning any cores off O.o

So? whos to say that it's video card doesnt use anti-alasing still.

and for using one core, if you run a app in compatiblity mode for a windows before dual cores where avalible, it would make only one core be used.
