About 4 years ago, after attempting my own map for Halo Custom Edition and realizing how complicated the process was, I was impressed enough to make a sort of tribute to the mapmakers who have made the CE community so fun to be a part of over the years. At the time, I had a very poor computer setup, with an ancient nvidia graphics card and no ram whatsoever, so the original Roadtrip, though solid in concept, lacked the quality to accurately show off the CE maps. Now, with a system light years ahead of the old one, I've done my best to remake the old video in larger resolution, full graphics, and nicer-looking maps where needed. Ironically, even with 4 gb of RAM and a nvidia 8800GT I've found that the portalling system (or something) in CE prevents completely lagless filming. Some maps became nearly unusable when trying to move across a strangely portalled area. The original video, for reference: http://halomovies.org/index.cfm?fid=1357Note: Halomovies doesn't seem to want to work for me right now- the streaming doesn't load. D: Here is the youtube version, though the audio does not sync properly, unfortunately: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8R3tTb2n2g&feature=relatedI made 3 versions of Redux: youtube, lowish res: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNjUoFRKoG8 filefront, 480p wmv: http://files.filefront.com/A+Halo+CE+Roadtrip+Redux+pwmv/;11949280;/fileinfo.htmlfilefront, 720p wmv: http://files.filefront.com/Roadtrip+Redux+720pwmv/;11950054;/fileinfo.htmlThe general fan base might have moved on to Halo 3, but CE still has its interesting features. That made me cry =( I miss the good ole days of halo ce when people didn't argue and good maps were released every week and not once a year. I miss people not worrying about 100% perfect and focused on how fun it was to play. =(

I wish I was around when H2CE was still around. I started when they finally died out and alot of the members moved on to other things. Of course I didn't map then though. I just played. Good times, all the servers were full of amazing maps and there were hundreds of servers. Not 5 good ones with a decent amount of people in them. I honestly have to agree that Halo CE is dying and we all have to accept it =(

No idea. The only times I used an actual spartan was at the beginning, which was on Hugeass, and therefore Tiamat's biped, and later when driving, which was with the default biped.

Glad you liked what you saw of it. Sorry if the concepts were similar. I was simply remaking one like this I did in Fall '05. :D Total coincidence that it came out near yours.
