UPDATE: O.K I think I got the s tag convertor working so never mind all the stuff below. My new question is, how do i make it highlight selected stuff in 3ds max 9? It used to, then i imported an obj file and used the script to fix the textures, and now when i click on a surface, it's not red highlighted. And how do you use the slice plane? I know that there are a number of ways to get the map geometry into max, with textures and materials and bitmaps. What I'm wondering is, which is the best? I've seen plugins for HEK+, standalone programs, etc. But there's too many to choose from. one by firescyth, one by Jahrain, and one by both and some others. http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?search=bsp+tag+convertor+v2.5 see? I downloaded some and now I'm confused. Can someone help out?
I tried "BSP tag converter V25" by firescyth, and it works, but i can't gt the textures in max. I know it can do it, but i don't know how. I extracted with the bitmaps check box checked, then when imported it to max i put the name of the materials file it created in data, and i even used the script hat it came with to make them all visible. nothing.
My goal is to eventually have 3ds max files that act as biulding blocks. I know that halo re-uses alot of geometry, and i want to get that geometry (mainly certain hallway sections, intersections, and rooms that are used alot), so alternativly, i could just download geometry, but i've searched and haven't found anything. Also, what's the latest version of HEK+? And are there any tutorials that include createing portals ANYWHERE?! Thanks! Edited by Vick Jr on Aug 21, 2008 at 05:47 PM
