the elite cant have energy shields and a jackal shield built into the biped because only one can serve as the main shield. of course you could attach one via script.... i smell a boss battle

yeah but how wold you make a model of a sheild and how would you texture im just into the basics of map making so i don't know for sure but mabie of you give it the textures of the ramps off hugeass
my second point, as far as controlling it you would use the flash light button to activate it. it would act like a flash light and steady drain the battery until you shut it off, then it will recharge. and also when it gets hit it will also drain the batterys.
third point it will only deflect foward fire. so your will recieve damage from behind you

well what about if u used a jackal's shield when u spawn in the map, and have a sword in the map that u can pick up, and there u go ur sword and shield. Edited by poop on Aug 1, 2008 at 08:14 AM

I'm not too sure how to do that...
But I did see something in the campaign scripts like
objects_attach (list_get (players) 0) "left_hand" cortana_chip "body"
something like that.
But that's a great Idea. Ima use that in one of my levels

Because when I use devs and I become a jackal on the campaign u have to crouch to raise ur shield in front of ur face.

good point but not many ppl have access to animation programs
and I got a good idea. a script that goes kinda like this:
(something goes here to give the sword a name. I dont remember what it was and i dont have my files with me at the moment)
(script continuous shield (unit_has_weapon_readied (list_get (players) 0) w_sword 1) (object_create_anew shield) (objects_attach (unit (list_get (players) 0)) "Left_hand" shield "body" (unit_has_weapon_readied (list_get (players) 0) w_sword 0) (object_destroy shield) )
