Whenever I download ANYTHING (a map, the new patch, or a custom ui) from halomaps, my screen for halo custom editon comes out like this:

I don't know why it is happening, I modify NOTHING, except for adding new maps to the map folder (and I even tried re-downloading maps), and event tried using custom maps without the manual patch.

For some reason, on halo custom edition, I can't use custom UI's, custom maps, and even reinstalling won't work. All it'll let me do is play normal maps on v1.07 from auto-update.

And my graphics card is capable of running it, it is a Nvidia 8600gt.
This only started happening after i decided to use a different cd key of mine because my little brother got me banned form a sever.

And, whenever I try to join a game/ make a sever, i get an Exception error.
(when I change around settings, I get some blue letters, and Very messed up colors, and checks and patterns)


Edit: The only way I can add maps or anything without this s problem is to uninstall halo custom edition, then reinstall, put in maps and other things, then patch. How do I fix that?

The cd key might have something to do with it... or not... or ... I don't know.

All I can say about the server is to attempt to go to ban appeals and nag about it, but everyone is all "2 bad u r repunsibble 4 ur comp, n8b ololoolololololol"
Maybe those screenshots could "help to reinforce this" if it were to help show that you are "intelligent" if your little brother was acting "stupid", but most likely nothing will be done about it.

Just wait out the ban and go to your old CD key. If that allows your game to work, then use a UI like the orange UI that forces you to choose your profile, and have him only use his own.


This is why I wish there were passwords in profiles at times.

If the old CD key doesn't work, then I don't know what to tell you.

I'll try it. And my brother got me banned from the "(ORDER CLAN) zombies" sever while I was watching E3, and I'm pretty sure that Beege said ALL bans were permanent.

Make sure your maps folder ONLY has .maps and folders in it. A friend of mine had a similar problem, and the problem was that there were readmes in his maps folder.

Yea the bans on it are permanent. Some retard got Rcon for the server and banned everyoen and the clan didn't do a thign about it as far as I know.

Ok, for some reason, my CD-Key was the reason it wouldn't work. But why would a cd-key corrupt halo?

And, it appears that bans don't last past 2 months, when my brother first got me banned from one of my 3 (of only 2 working) cd-keys.

I only have maps, but the game calls them "Linker Address Map".

Not true... I've been banned 3 times already and I can go back in it...

Also I recommend a FULL CLEAN unistall ERASE IT completely from your hard drive.
Download revo uninstaller. right click on halo CE uninstall chose the advanced option then follow the directions. Then after that reinstall it.

Should I also delete all the maps I downloaded form halomaps.org?
They seem to corrupt halo as well.

all u probably needed was to reinstall halo / haloce; couldve also been a problem between different halo game languages (i.e. halo french, halo english)

The clean install worked. There were a few things left over, such as old maps, and one other thing, which I think was the patch, and once deleted, halo worked fine.
