One of my team members has been experiencing this problem. Every time he opens up Halo CE, it goes to the loading screen, then closes out and says this: "A problem occured initializing DirectDraw.Hardware acceleration maybe disabled,please run DXDIAG."

He could be trying to run at res that is too high. I don't think anything over your monitor's native res, or over 1680x1050 is runnable in Halo, even if you force it.
