theres a problem with that... i tried to do that before and the jms exporter thing said there are too many characters to export. thats y the original question was asked about the frame object.

Link the mesh to the root node, "bip01 pelvis" or whichever the root node is cyborg linkage looks kinda like this in max:

for each mesh in your scene, 1. select it 2. Under the Selection rollout, select Face mode, the red triangle between Edge and Polygon 3. click Unhide All in the same rollout 4. de-select Faces mode 5. press m. In the materials browser dialog that pops up, click Pick 6. pick the mesh you're working on
7. for each Sub Material listed in the Multi/Sub-Object 7.1 click the Select By ID button in the Surface Properties rollout 7.2 enter the ID and click OK 7.3 click Hide
when you've hidden all faces with IDs listed in your multi/sub, select all (edit menu). If you've selected anything, those faces need new sub materials in the multi/sub, or their IDs need to be changed to one(s) that are in the multi/sub If no faces were selected, move on to the next object, from line one, above
