The John-117 Chronicles.

It was 28 years after the Great War. Earth has been most prosperous, Mombasa, the worst destruction seen by one Covenant Scarab, has been mostly rebuilt. Civilians are finally reliving their normal lives without worry. The crime rate on earth has dropped to .06% due to the Spartan Recon Defense Force (SRDF). A police force made up of the ONI's Spartan VII's which had been highly successful compared to the original Spartan III design. It has been only 6 years since a lost deep space cargo frigate fell upon the destructed ship. The only sign of life aboard the ship had been an ancient Navy Class AI that had called itself Cortana. The AI was weak and the signal would not have gotten across if it hadn't been for the fact that the lost cargo ship was equipped with an ANMARI communications system. The system was old compared to the times and had been created by Doctor Joseph Kenneth Anmari. It sent sound and radio trans frequency waves across space (and time) faster than the speed of light. The AI's power was at a critical level because it had converted all the ships power to the cryo bay. There seemed to be another life sign in one of the cargo pods. The pilot of the cargo ship, Sean Wayne, was one of the last few pilots in the galaxy. Aside from exploration ships, all other ships including cargo and civilian transport ships were unmanned. Sean had entered the ship to look for a communications system and checked the cryotube while he was there. What he saw made him cry. The armor was in everyones dreams and it was unmistakable, the stories they all were told about how the original Spartans had won the Great War single handedly until there had been only one left. The Master Cheif, Spartan 117, John.
Sean was ecstatic and even more so when an exploration frigate happened to drop out of slipspace 200 kilometers in front of him. After hailing the ship and making it back to Earth, he was honored and awarded for finding the one person that had won the war. John was not thawed, ONI gave specific instructions to keep him frozen. They said to thaw him ONLY IN A NATIONAL CRISIS. They never would suspect that their next decision would put the entire earth and themselves at risk.

If this is taking place soon after Halo 3, didn't the frigate go floating towards some planet? I assumed the frigate would land there and not get a new crew. I don't mean to bring down your story or anything, it's good. I just don't think it's completely accurate.

well yer, the ship floats towards a planet and we all ASSUME it crashes or lands there(you can only see it floating to planet if its done on legendary so it must be important). Cortana might die cus of the 7years and chief becomes the marathon dude. LOL, cus marathon is like 300yrs after halo3 but still. In marathon there is a robotic chick like cortana and u wear CQB and stuff. idk

Just good story once again

Actually, you might want to revise that. New Mombasa was completely destroyed (glassed) when the Prophet of Regret's carrier went into slipspace too close to the city and drew everything nearby into slipspace with it, obliterating the city. There was nothing to rebuild; it was all destroyed.

Incorrect. She can live until she doesn't have space for new memories. The '7 years' thing is that smart AIs must be destroyed after 7 years operation or it will contain too much memory for it to start rampancy.

No, the smart AI live for about seven years before they inevitably become "too smart" and overload. Or they go rampant. Either way, they only live seven years.
