Will someone please tell me how to make the light coming off a dynamic light animate with the animation of a marker? I attached a lens flare to the dynamic light. No problems. I attached a looping sound to test for distance to the scenery file. No problems. Try watching the dynamic light move across the field with the animation test Don and I made. CRASH AND BURN! No, that's not an exception; rather, it's failure to communicate with the animation, thus, faulure to move the light cone.

What I want is a "spotlight" effect, like in Kirby_422's sun. How did he get the dynamic light to move so easily? What were his methods?

Will someone please tell me how to animate this baby fully? Thanks. Then I can start working on a dynamic sun.

Judging by what you've said, it should work. It's attached as an attachment, telling it which marker to attach to, and that marker is animated? And the dynamic box is checked off in the light tag?

This is correct. Dynamic light is checked. Marker is attached in scenery and matches the marker in gbx. Everything animates except for the light cone itself. That is frozen in one spot.

Try putting a widget on that marker instead. If that doesn't animate, then it tells you your marker isn't animating, and that would be your problem. I'm saying this because I looked at the plasma grenade, and from what you've told me, it matches.

OK what do I put in the widget?

Just as test, duplicate the warthog antenna, change the attachment marker name, and use that.

Once I finish my english book project, I will surely go into 3ds, animate a box with a marker, and try this.

And back when you and I were chatting I also offered to help make the sun with GRUNTS' help. But let's not bring up old garbage OK? Kirby, it sounds like YOU are the one that has a hate problem, not us. The only reason we are trying to make our own sun is NOT to insult you but rather to figure it out on our own as best we can. If you're done with your sun then why don't you post it so we can check it out? Otherwise, congrats on what you're doing and keep it up (the sun I mean). If HDoan wants to be a prick (if he is being one in the first place) then let him. We offered to help you make it step by step so if you're going to turn us down then do so here and now. We're offerig you help once again. GRUNTS can model enough to do what you want done if you would just cooperate with us and quit damning us for the way we are.

Understand that everything I've said is how I feel, not what is, OK? I feel like I'm being damned because I simply asked for help on my own version of the sun I want to make with my buddies. ive been trying to get along by giving you that hint, and telling you to look threw all my posts for other hints ive given, but then you continued the spazing against me you and grunt started last thread.

you cant sync it to your clock (and besides.. that realy wouldnt work work well online since many people will be in differnt time zones) if you wanted to link it to a real clock, you'd have to make a program to run the sun instead of a script, which would bug many people havting to load a app every time.
