Sry, I already have beta testers (7). So I dont want anyone to play it (except for makers and the 7 beta testers). Rest assured that this map was designed from the ground up FOR game play. The buildings all comunicate with eachother so its easy to find cover and there is alwary more than one way to get somewhere. If u want an idea of what the gameplay will be like, check out my first map "hegemony." I know its an eyesore, but the gameplay is very fun (asuming u can find someone to play it with) lol

Im so testing beacuase your so using my H3 fp arms, or My elite fp arms.

Great Assault. The Pre-ALPHA was an epic FAIL and an epic FLAW. I was a complete noob at mapmaking. Now I am almost completely ready for releasing the ALPHA, but first I have to add and remove some stuff, like tons of useless bipeds for enemy shield testing, weapons not needed(extra br's that don't match the first), and maybe more scenery. =/

P.S. I can mod weapons as far as changing around different tags within a WEAPON file, but mainly I like to populate stuff with Sapien and produce box maps.lol. :)

Which map? Pre-ALPHA was either dejected or didn't work. The scenario file for it was corrupt so I trashed it, not knowing that it was fixable, and I sent in the piece of junk known as the Great Assault Pre-ALPHA. Don't worry about the map. The ALPHA will be better, but I wish I could have done a little better in GMAX. IT wouldn't highlight nor cooperate with me (error I think) and so I used the old GAA file to make the map. It doesn't look that bad, though, compared to what I wanted it to be texture-wise. If only GMAX cooperated.......anyways, the map looks fine. I just have to finish some populating in Sapien and I will submiot it. :)

Just to add here I am in tcem too and i made the site for the clan and just so people know. it is http://tcem.spruz.com (yes i used spruz lol) If you have any questions about the site or stuff like that im me on xfire (iky001)

Not that you could do it, but you should mess around with some physics and make the mongooses physics better. It would really improve the map. With the crappy physics that it has right now, it will be a pain in the butt trying to go up those ramps.

Some updates made to the map.


  • Mongooses or ATVs have been removed due to comments.

  • Followed Spartan 094's advice and made some of the shaders shiny, working on more.

  • Added AI Sentinel that move around the map. They are not in your way, and can only be seen with dev.

  • Added kill barrier to prevent glitching.


TO DO:
> Add Elite FP arms rigged by CLS_Grunt
> Make all the shaders shiny

    No, I meant you could only GET to them with dev, they as if in Halo 3 Multiplayer levels such as Construct and Isolation, they just fly around. They don't shoot. Sorry if I confused you.

    What you should do is keep the sentinels flying around a set path in the shaft just for the sake of a nice thing to look at using a command list, since the shaft is not a playable area anyways. They should not be allowed to attack or communicate or anything that would interfere with game play, though.

    Normally, I'm entirely against AI in any multiplayer map because they don't sync, but in this case, as long as they're there just for scenery, they don't need to sync. It would make this be the first map released (as far as I know) that uses AI for scenery.

    Is the map portalled?
    Also, you saw my Mark VI Armor shaders and "wow"ed at them, so I am considering messing with stuffs for Elite shaders and then asking you what you think about them when you see them...

    At the very least, I would change the cubemap so that it does not have that strange blue color on it wherever it goes... IMO it looks... weird...

    And it really has a strange effect on the Gold Elites...

    Added pairs of Sentinels that fly through the map. These Sentinels will NOT harm you. Yes you can kill them, dunno why you would want to though.

    And here's a possible storyline: This ancient security shaft was once used by many of the Forerunners, but after the events of Installation 04 happened, Sentinels re began patrolling the shaft. A few years later, a Phantom crashes carrying several Elites. They decide to fight one another for control of the Shaft. Will your team come out victorious? Or fall into the deep shafts?

    Not too shabby rooster. I dont like the thing coming off the back though. it looks like it should be going into something, like cliffs, or not there at all. also i tihnk the main tower could be a little taller. I'd say completely redo it, keeping it pretty similar, but make the tower taller, and make the thing go back into cliffs. and have the doors you have in the back there also in the cliffs, curved a bit.

    New floor textures! I'm doing more than modifying the scenario... I'm modifying a lot of the bitmaps, and shaders.
