is it possible that there is a tutorial that covers the fixing of any errors that can occur with any part of making a map?

Fixing Errors

Fixing Errors:

Select your model
Convert to editable poly
Go into vertex mode
Select all the faces
On the right side there is a button called "weld"
Click the little box next to it
Set the weld threshold to "0.001"
Select "ok"

That fixes open edges, and also degenerate triangles I think.

doesnt fix all of them. In editable poly, select border mode. Then try to select you whole level. If it selects anything, then there is an open edge. The most common way to fix open edges is what h4z4rd posted, but sometimes you need to go in create tool and create the faces. To do that, go to polygon mode and click create. Click on the verticies you want the face to cover, and do it in order.
