I set up one of the ai on my map as a biped so that I could put a nav point marker on him. That worked fine. He walks around fine and all but he has no weapon, I went into his biped tag in gorilla and added the weapon I wanted him to have (the shotgun) but in sapien and in the game he walks around aimlessly without a weapon. What do I do to make him carry a weapon.

The biped I added is captain keys and I know he is able to carry a weapon because he carryies one in one part of the campaign and I have played a SP map where you can play as him...

Thank you for your help... (if you actually try to help me)

I'd rather go without than take what you'd bring.

You need to modify his ACTOR VARIANT and place him as AI if you wa... wait... no... bipeds can hold weapons...

I do not know... I tried.

Well he is a biped that follows an encounter I set up with a script... I just need to know how to give him a weapon!

Look in the biped, and make sure he can hold the weapon in the .model_animations tag.

You were on the right track. In the actor_variant tag, there should be a "weapon" field near the top. Refer to the weapon you want your AI to use there. The biped's weapons don't affect what weapon an AI holds.

He could use ai_attach to give him Artificial Intelligence you know. I did that once with a player, and he could do AI stuff that players can't.

True, because AI can refer to animations such as diving, evading, signaling, etc; while players are limited to what their controls allow.

ok, so I found a Ranged Combat tab under the captain.actor_variant tag. I set it to the shotgun.weapon tag but he still doesn't hold any gun... ? ??!?? !?? ?!?
