When did you first discover Halo (not CE) and play it? I did in kindergarten (I know what you're thinking.) My friend had an older brother get it, and we were playing slayer together... In Kindergarten! We played campaign and came up with names for the covenant. Hunters were turtles, grunts were "little dudes", Elite's were "Big guys", Sword Elite's were "that guy with a sword", flood infections were "squidwards", and the big poofy flood were "puffy poops (I have no idea where we got it from, so don't ask.)" Regular flood were just "flood." At least we got somthing right. For me and my friend, we have lived through playing 8 years of halo together. So just post how you discovered Halo, and especially if it's funny.

I searched Halo on download.com, saw the trial, played the trial, thought it was cool, saw the game at Walmart, bought the game, loved it, end of story.

I waited a long time before finally playing it. It had been out on PC for a least a year before i even played the demo. I was for awhile playing a MMO but i was getting board and craving something else. I seen in best buy that halo pc was only 20 bucks and i was interested. I then went home and found a demo. I played the demo for about 2 months before buying the game. I baught two copies one for myself and one for my brother so we could play together.

I played Halo PC for awhile and then got to modding halo pc. I ran a limited sucess server with a mod without nads which was fun and brought new life to the game for a while. Halo PC is fun to me without shields and without nades, the rifle game type is a blast like that. I then soo after discovered Halo CE.

At a friend's house. Halo 1 Xbox version. Demo derbys at Sidewinder. Awesome.

The first time I learned of it I was at my friends, it was the year it came out. One of my friends had it and we decided to play it.(this is the xbox version BTW) Once we had played for a few hours on the campaign, I decided to go out and buy it. A few years later 2006 I think, I decided I wanted to get a new game for my new PC so I decided to go and buy Halo. A few months later I learned of Halo CE and haven't played regular since.(but I still have played it and Halo 2 for xbox when my friends stay the night. I know where and how to go on every map)

I went to a friends house 3 years ago to see what my best friends were always talking about, and I didn't understand. First played Xbox Live H2 and then warthog bashing on Halo 1 Xbox Sidewinder. Also finding a glitch in sidewinder (can't remember what it was)

Then in 2006 i downloaded the trial...few months later got the game for pc...played multiplayer all summer until I found out CE was free and up for download on the internet, after about a week or two of research. -_- The first custom map I played was cityscape-classic...since it was out in the middle, and new.

I played Halo for Xbox at a friends house. He showed me it to convince me the the Xbox was better than the PS2.

it wasn't the one where you use scorpions and ghosts to get on top of the level, is it? That was the glitch of the year back then when I first played.

I discovered it only a year ago :(. Since kindergarten, a lot of people were talking about halo. Last year, I decided I had to see just what they were talking about. I watched the halo 3 announcment triler and it looked real cool. I watched more and more halo videos until I just couldn't wait any longer. I still wasn't allowed to play many M games at that time, so it was hard convincing my mom to let me get it. Then one day I saw a game in the mailbox that changed my life.

Not exactly, my friend told me to get it so I told my dad to come home with it, he bought me unreal tournament 2004 xD Eventually I saw it at London drugs and bought it.

I saw it at the library rented it later bought my own copy

It was a launch title for the first Xbox so when I picked up my Xbox it came with it. Loved it then, Love it now. That was back when games cost 30-40 dollars and now they cost 60. RIP!

When haloPC came out, my brother saw it at uhh...cant remember what store. At that point i had NEVR heard or seen halo before; my bro suddenly saw it in the store and he told me: hey, this games good, we should get it. I basically said, uhhh....ok...what is this...?
Interestingly enuf i didnt even look at the back, i just saw the front and thoght ´oh yea, another super human robot game involving guns´

amen to that pope! actually it wasnt so much that they were zombies that got to me, but that fact that they could pop up anywhere, anyhow. or at least thats what i thouyght back then, prior to my ´modding education´ xD. And then of course it didnt help that i have this gigantic urge to keep everyone/everything in front of me and never have anything behind me. paranoia attack!

i was on the video game section of download.com looking for free games to play and i found halo trial. started to learn how to mod for that. then i was talking to my friend about it and he said that he had the full halo pc. i asked if i could have it and he gave it to me (such a good friend =P). i immediately began searching for mods for that and found custom maps on the halo section of filefront. i figured out i needed halo CE to play them so i downloaded that. i searched for halo CE maps on Google and found this site. changed my life forever, and im thankful for it.

i saw the halo fall of reach novel in the stores bougt it. 2 months later afther reading the book i decided to buy the game long time ago

cheats they diddnt have a xbox 360 3 years ago (yuve been here 3 years) also i have know sence the day halo 1 came out for xbox from my bros

I saw it at target on the shelf in 2000. I was like hey why is this in the PC section. Then I was like OMG it is FOR the PC so I bought it. :D

Liar! The game came out in 2001, for the PC it came out in 2003!

Lol, it seems I've been playing the game longer than any of you. And I'm 12!

i just remember getting the game when it came out for pc, on like the first week of its release

He didn't say he played it 3 years ago.
