I started up halo, eager to play. I go to multiplayer and join a game. It connects to the server and then gets stuck at "Loading map ______". I tried different maps, and all the same things happen. I restarted my computer, and it still happens. I realize that it freezes, so i press the little windows button by alt, and my computer freezes. I am forced to press the off button. I have played smoothly and Lag-Less on all my other maps, and I have Vista. Vista has never let me down once, and in my opinion it is doing much better than my XP. So don't say "Vista's the problem" I really want to know what's wrong.

Well Vista works fine for me. Can you specify which maps you tried. Also were these hosted servers or dedicated servers. Also is Haloce.exe being blocked by any firewall. (Sometimes microsoft firewall blocks it even though it is unblocked for me.)

I've tried multiple maps, and they all did the same thing. Some were dedicated servers and some were not. I tried to play snow grove, H2_Zanzibar, no remorse, hypothermia, and others i can't remember. Like I said, i have been playing halo ce for about a year (I have only recently joined forums and started mapmaking), and vista has done me much good, so I don't think it is vista's fault.

Well, it worked, but this isn't any better than no loading a map.

It's not corrupt. I got it a month ago and it was fine. Anyway, it stopped doing what the pics are doing, but it did go back to freezing at the loading screen.

I will try halo again, and if it freezes while loading another map I will die.

I died.

Nothing seems irregular.

I think that it was your graphics card that overheated.

It works now. I got a different UI. I can play, but when I try to do any action (quit, restart, or when the leader starts new match) my computer freezes.
