no. don't use sparkedit, get the HEK and use Sapien. sparkedit is a halo PC modding tool and although it can still work for CE it fails. hope this helps =P.

NO. The Halo Custom Edition Game, unlike the Halo PC Retail game was designed to use custom content. As a way to tell which map is which the maps have a unique checksum embedded in the map at compile time. The checksum includes the map data AND the file name as part of the checksum. Renaming a map file changes the checksum and the map will not load.

The results are in and Sapien is what SparkEdit wants to be when it grows up.

It's not standard issue windows or HEK.
If you don't have it, you could download gmax, the free version of 3ds.
A link to it is in here: http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm%3Fpage=topic&topicID=8579

Yes, it will work. I have done it before. When i get my computer back i will make a video of proof. You have to make the name the same length or smaller, or if you do it right you can change the checksum and potentially make the name as long or as short as you want it to be.
Don't get your shorts all in a knot trying to show basicly what I said. Meaning you have to change the checksum. The best and easist way to change the checksum is to rename the senerio and re-compile the map. Or are you going to try to prove to me that using the correct tools properly is not the correct way to make maps?

You can do it anyway you want and feel proud about it but the proper way is to rename the senerio and re-compile the map.

EVERYBODY STOP WHINING! This person should be a good example. Why? He actually brought back his old topic without making new ones, and what difference does it make if he brings it back anyway to ask another question that relates to the topic? It doesn't help to yell this: An unneeded statement.

Sorry Dennis if you found this wrong...
You presume too much. In actual fact YOU are the one who wasted my time, by forcing me to post telling you that you presume too much.

Either help the person by answering his questions or help him by pointing him to where he can find the answer or failing that: remain silent. Only the moderator decides when a topic is too old to be revived.

Yes with tool. I'm assuming that if tool itself was uninstalled, it would mean it is deleted, in which case, reinstall the HEK. Or reinstall the HEK anyway, if that was what was uninstalled. And if it was CMD that was uninstalled, then your mom doesn't know much about computers... I don't see why someone would do that anyway.

Less than a baby. All it can do is copy objects.

From my understanding, you want to populate a map in Spark Edit and turn it into a Halo CE map. Congratulations, I have done this before.
I've used a shoe to drive a nail, but it was not the correct tool for the job. The HEK is THE tool kit for making Halo CE maps.

From my understanding, you want to populate a map in Spark Edit and turn it into a Halo CE map. Congratulations, I have done this before. You will need: Spark Edit, (any other possible modding programs you need to get your job done), HEK, and HEK+.

Here's what you do:

Mod your stock Halo PC map. You can PMI as much as you like. (For the love of god make sure it works in-game before you try to convert it to CE.) Once you like what you see in Halo (playing your modded map), make sure the tags folder for that map (in HCE/Tags/Levels/Test/STOCKMAP) is completely empty. Now, open your modded HPC map in HEK+. Go ahead and follow standard ripping procedures. Now, find your stock map's SCENARIO file, that it should have just created. RENAME IT "YOURMAPNAME.scenario". Go into Tool and compile it! DONE!

I have found issues related to spawn settings (vehicle spawn times, etc.) just fix that stuff up in Guerilla.

Hope you understood/found this helpful.

I have successfully used this method to turn one of my mods ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7SVGDrXJ-s ) in a Halo CE level, where I will do what I wish with it. (If you guys beg me, I might release it here.)

PHAIL, SIR. Look up "Perfect Model Injection Tutorial" on google. It is very possible to add other tags into PC levels.
