I finally know how to work sapien, so I am now modding cityscape-classic to be in a style similar to the floods, except with no teleporters and it's in a city. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, the map production is delayed until december 21, the map should be ready to at least beta test by christmas, and the first public beta will be realeased around the start of January. So... to give this thread more of a point, post your ideas for things in this map here!

alot of flood infection forums. Are you making this into an SP map or a multiplayer map designed as a single player experience?
i would to see a marine using a chain gun and just destroying waves of flood infections.
use command lists to send teams of AI out into the city so you are attacking the flood too, not only being attacked.

There will be more covenant than flood, althogh there will be a building entirley taken over by the flood, and it is a multiplayer map. The map will include ai marines, but I do not know how to make an ai bot hold a custom weapon.

i would design it as a single player experience to make it more fun. otherwise it's just a map filled with AI and there is nothing special about that.

ok thanks for making that more clear. i would suggest putting a drop ship scenery up in the sky and making the spawn point inside. So you kind of jump down into the fight like being droped off. just turn off fall damage>
also make sure to make use of command lists.

I said it was like the_floods, not an ai bloodgulch variant! It basically has no story, like the floods. It will probably be more interesting than the floods, since it's in an urban area, with a lot more covies, and there is also flood and covie "turf", like there could be a flood infected block with a covenant conreolled building with jackals siplling out and blowing up flood. I will actually release the first public beta on christmas, after a brief alpha test, since all I need to do is add ai.

A single player experience multiplayer map rarely has a story. There are usually goals but usually they are made to be an ongoing battle which can wage for a few hours. i did a SP experience multiplayer map once on red feather ranch (not released) where there was a goal to get to the end of the map. for that i had non respawning AI.
I just hope someone not importiant does some command list work. like having some covies driving some vehicles around.

i don't like marines in warthogs as they won't follow command lists once in.
I honestly think someone should redo the hog and make it so AI can drive with command lists. Im sure it can be done if you retaged it. ghosts follow command lists im sure someone could make a hog do so too. maybe a hover hog. but it would be awesome to just gun while an AI follows a path. god i would love a map like that.

Unfortunately I dont know how to make command lists. Once the first public beta gets released I will be happy to learn how to do that.
