Hey, I was wondering if the Xbox 360 controller worked with halo 1, and if not does the original xbox controller work for halo 2?

yes it can. plug it in, start halo, then go into options and look around. make sure to set it as a device in your profile. then just set your controls for it.
the controller really doesn't work that well though

You need to download the drivers first.

becuase its not like xbox. the controls are really touchy, mainly becuase there is no deadzone for the controller. so, even not touching the control stick is going to make you move a little bit purely becuase the stick weighs itself in a direction that registers 0.01 on what ever axis its leaning to. the mouse feels more natural too.

Try to play Halo 3 with a keyboard on Xbox Live. Controller always wins.

Well...

I modded my original Xbox controller to have a USB port instead of Xbox USB ports, so i can plug it into my computer.

But in order for it to work you need recl0uds third-party driver.

XBCD Driver Version 1.07
-------------------

Exports ~32 controls to Windows:
- Up to 24 digital buttons.
- 7 axes(X, Y, Z, RX, RY, RZ, Slider) in Windows 2000/XP.
6 axes(X, Y, Z, RX, RZ, Slider) in 98/ME.
- POV hat switch with 8 directions

Controller buttons, axes, and the digital pad can be mapped to any of the controls exported to Windows.

Supports up to 8 different configurations. The active configuration can be selected by pressing both Analog Sticks simultaneously.

Controller can be reported to Windows as a gamepad or a joystick.

Threshold settings for Buttons, Triggers, and Axes.

Deadzone settings for Analog Sticks.

Scaling of axes for sensitivity.

Gamepad settings can be saved to a file for later use.

Rumble support. Adjustable maximum force for each actuator.

If memory serves me correct that 360 RedCl0ud driver is intended for original Xbox Controller S. BUT it MAY work for a 360 controller.

Is it possible to change joystick sensitivity via a hack or game options?

Yes. The redcl0ud driver allows you to set range, sensitivity, axises, buttons, rumble configs, etc.

The Redcl0ud XBCD driver allows you to use a ORIGINAL Xbox Controller as a gamepad when you hook it up to your PC.

thats coz in h3 when you play with a controller it has a auto-aim thingy where it half locks onto other players... but keyboard+mouse don't........

The Xbox 360 controllers don't need the third party driver.

However If you plug a ORIGINAL (Has White/Black buttons) controller into your computer,
you will need the third party driver (Located Here:http://www.redcl0ud.com/xbcd.html#download) before Windows will detect it as a usable game pad.

Yes it will be usable for Halo 2 Vista as long as Windows detects it as a usable game pad.
