at any rate, you need some category's like:

best gameplay: a map that plays like it was designed by pro's. it needn't be the most popular map, nor the most attractive. it simply needs to be awesome

most popular: the map you'd most like to be playing, right now.

sexiest map: this map needs to have jaw dropping visuals. you need to look at it and instantly want to see more.

most original: the most original idea, be it theme, or design or anything else.

stupid fun: there needn't be anything sophisticated visually, or game play wise, it simply needs to be cool.

best series of maps: these can be from an individual author, or from a team.

most anticipated: the one map you can't wait for.

greatest map: that one map that will always hold a special place in your heart.

those are just my thoughts anyways..

and of course an overall Best Map. Bloodgulch is my nomination for stupid fun. lol. no custom map beats it. and sexiest would have to be portent. anyways a map awards would be a good idea, but you should set it up with dennis, i mean, it should be Official. not just some thread that eventually dies...

naa, I think it should just be a public choice thing (and I meant the best map to be your favourate map)

if it's going to work in that format, I think there should be a nomination round first.

Halo Maps already has a rating system. Just rate the maps you think are the best by clicking on the stars.

The most popular isnt CMT snowgrove, its coldsnap. Both I think fail.

Dennis the reason why I think the rating thing fails right now is because it doesn't seem to be used. I bet you they would be used now if they were all reset. I saw a tutorial map at the top...... doesn't sound too good to me. This should be looked into in the near futur, or would it be too hard to reset the ratings? To do so would you have to erase all of the maps?

I think there should be award for each game type and which map has the best gameplay on it. for instance:

Best CTF:
Best Race:
Best: blah blah blah, so on and so forth.

Opinionated (is this a word?) Best CTF map: CMT Snowgrove

Siege for best CTF map.

Okay a couple things.

2. Dennis, I want the makers to feel happy that the have a big medal to wear on the web.
3. Yes, they have to be made this year. Why do you think I waited until around Chrismas time?

It's incredibly plain, no theme, or anything amazingly distinct about it.
ANd it holds no special place in Kiwi's heart.
