Man it seems like CE is dying more and more everyday. More ppl go to play Halo 3. I miss the old days when people who made maps actually made them GOOD, not CRAPPY.

So heres my idea of a map for CE, one that I think would be cool:

its a mixture of indoor and outdoor.

It is a water based map

There is a building in the center of the map.
it has 3 floors.
Floor 2 is the "Neutral" level, it floats in the water.
Floor 3 is up top above the Neutral Floor, and overlooks the surrounding dock area outside the building.
Floor 1 is underwater, and has a couple access tunnels to the outside part of the map.

On each side of the center structure are two smaller buildings
As you would expect, they are bases.
they have only 2 floors, neutral floor and underwater.
underwater floor houses flag room (for CTF and Assault)
Neutral floor has a dock that houses vehicles.

So what do you think?

well, there where the old days where we could go weeks without requests though, I remember a time when it was only a request a month..

I think the reason we have so many requests and not new releases is because people think just because we have a good community and a large tutorial and tag database, they think people will do it for them, not knowing that doing it yourself yields better rewards, like the feeling that you accomplished something.

Well the forums at least are still going strong. Problem with Halo CE is alot of people going into the HEK think it's easy (heck i did) but then they soon find out it isn't. I think really the main problem is that people who don't have alot of money have to work with gmax. Gmax is great but it lacks some of the modeling tools of 3ds max. Which makes, making advanced maps very very hard.

thing is halo ce and halo pc are old games lets face it. Eventually old games die and lose fans it will happen. Thankfully halo pc still gots fans. Some people who play halo pc don't even know about halo ce. You can make a room is halo pc and call it "halo custom edition fans" and people will join and ask what halo custom edition is.

We need the next big (not in size i mean popular) map. Something amazing that will just really revive the sprit of halo ce. Snowgrove did that, we need something that can do what snowgrove did. and that is get people excited.

What about Diablo 2? And Star Craft?

Well, we could try to set up a dedicated HPC server that when people join, we have a automated script that has the server tell the players what HCE is and were to get it (www.halomaps.org)

that's a good idea, i like it. it could actually work

I was working on a map to show off HCE, cause ive found someone who can convert HCE maps to HPC, he can even convert custom bitmaps O.o sad thing is.. he cant get scripts, so it would have to be a HUD thing to advertise.. and no 1337 script work.. ill do more work on that later (I am gonna have the full HCE version witch has full avalibility threw scripts and stuff, and then the HPC one that is just to say "look at this!")

That sounds like the best idea so far.

we should have a few maps though, cause I don't think mine that im planning on will get the whole variaty of people, because my map that will be converted after its finished doesnt have anything to do with halo, so it might not get certain people pulled in..

How close are you to being done?

I have the general BSP done, I can add details and skins and junk now. I have like 1/8th of the weapons done, and I think im gonna skip the biped.. I realy havnt done much work on it lol. im not gonna talk about it untill its done and used to say "look at how 1337 HCE is compared to your worthless log mods"

Halo CE isn't dying. First of all, from the start, like what some said, some people don't know about it. Then there's people who don't even have HaloPC because they got Halo Xbox. Last, Halo 3 is a new generation game. Of course, like every male in the world who can afford things like this, has to get it. So obviously some of the members are playing Halo 3. But they will have their fun with Halo 3 and comeback.

there will be the HCE copy aswell.. the HCE version will have scripts and stuff and no label "GET HCE!!!" at the bottem of the screen lol
