ive been working on this map a little bit at a time on the side for about 2 weeks now. its still in very early stages right now but its going in game tomorrow hopefully. the pics are too big so here are links: http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/corndogman939/centrality2.jpgi am aware that the cliffs look like crap right now, those are being fixed. here is a pic that shows the layout a little better: http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/corndogman939/centrality1.jpgand one more with textures. max wouldn't render properly so i just took a screen shot in perspective view. http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/corndogman939/centrality2-1.jpgbugs/ problems im aware of: ugly cliffs bad uv-ing in some areas crappy modeling in some areas. things that will be better in the next version: sexier cliffs improved bases better modeling in other places better textures. im not sure if this map is going to have standard weapons, or if i will be using arbiters halo 2/3 weapons in it. the only vehicles will be ghosts and mongooses. might put a turret in there somewhere..... thats about it. any comments/ suggestions/ constructive criticism is appreciated.

Looks cool. I can only think how many times people are going to be mad when they are killed from above. Maybe make it a slope to the top? Or else you'll get alot of nade whores.

kinda looks like the roman colleseum but instead of stands its got cliffs looks i mean the cliffs arent as bad as some maps but it is looking good i think the halo 2/3 weapons would be a good dash of difference on that map keep up the work

thank you for your comments selentic. one thing i forgot to mention is that there may be a h2v release for this when i get the game, which explains why there are 4 bases. I am giong to amp up all the bases soon. and they will not all be the same looking. the two main bases where the flags are will be the same, and the other ones are going to be different. they are not really bases, they are just structures there that will, like you said, house some type of reward like a RL or maybe a Spartan laser. but ill try not to over power anything. im going to change the layout so everything isn't perfectly symmetrical. it could ruin the gameplay a bit. for example a guy could hide with a rocket launcher in one of the bases and as soon as someone comes by on a mongoose they blast them. we don't want any camping or anything like that. the textures are just temporary textures so i can get it looking properly in game.

Select all the cliff polygons and give them their own smoothing group. Add more detail to the hallways. Interesting map.

It's hard to find any good new maps for CE, and by the way it's looking this map will be very fun when you finish it. The only problem I can see gameplay-wise is that the four bases will be very annoying when playing slayer... if someone gets up there with a rocket launcher or something like that then everyone's getting screwed over until he's out of ammo. But, looks like a really good CTF map.

thanks malevolence. i promise that i will pt a lot of thought into the weapon layout and other aspects so that gameplay will still be fair and you wont get owned by a noob with a rocket launcher.
