Ok I made my free month live account but it wont let me make a server nor can i play any it wont let me click the create a game button and when i get in the list of servers to join one it says this

I have a feeling its because of the silver account I'm assuming you made....

Did you make the silver acount and then used the month free trial of gold to make it a free gold month acount? when you look at your name on the live guide (press home or click the xbl guide button on your controller..... or go to guide from the main menu) and what is outlining your name gold or silver? if it's gold then i duno but if it's silver then you didn't do it right.

Looks to me like its a gold account... Probably somehting in your Live settings, outside of Halo2.

Yep thats a gold acount.... check your parental settings to allow hosting or whatever.

were do i find the perental settings

xbox.com login and then go to uh... *logs on* manage profile then family settings then uh login using the acount that is your "parents" hotmail (I think your normal email would work but whatever you used as the parent acount if your the one who made it) and then pretty much make everything allow.... wait... nevermind it doesn't have a hosting option..... I don't know so just message microsoft or call xbox customer service.... yes I know your not using the xbox and this is H2V on the PC it's still the same system the xbox uses to play online.

EDIT just looked at that error message.... um that hapens when your hosting? or trying to host? that shouldn't happen go ask microsoft or something.

ok just to get things straight i only get the error when i try to join a server when i click host nothing happens it acts as tho it wasnt even there.

yes my windows vista doesnt like to work on my comp and whats funny is i tried to put it on both of my laptops wich do have windows vista on them and it runs so bad that online would suck so should i just install vista and then install h2 or should i just give up.

Solution Steps:

1. Save up enough money somehow to buy a brand new comp with ALL the latest specs with 8 gigs of DDR2 RAM. (8 gigs will get you running so smooth you ll be like: HOLY @$^$#^*& SHIZCAKES!)

2. Install Windows Vista

3. Turn off that really super annoying UAC (User Acount Control) thing for Vista and set up all your other settings while your at it.

4. Update all your hardware drivers to latest version(s).

5. Install H2V

6. Play H2V

7. Check to see if you still have that problem

8. If you do, post again saying what it says.

9. If you don't, join a server, get good, and go pwn n00bs.
