What else are you running at the same time? Xfire, MSN, AIM, MP3 player? Shut off everything except what you absolutely need to run the OS then try it. We have installed gamecam on three different systems and have not had a problem. There must be something with your system. Try scanning for virus infection or spyware or ad-ware. use a program like AdAware by lavasoft http://www.lavasoft.nu/ the personal version is free and does a good job.

It is not necessarily that it needs more memory but what processes are in use. Xfire in particular has been know to cause problems with video games and other video related programs. I don’t know why exactly.
Whenever you try to troubleshoot something you have to start at some known good position and work from there. The very first thing to do when troubleshooting a computer problem is eliminate the potential program interactions and start with as clean an OS install as possible.
