I messed up the level Gravemind with Gravemind 1.5 (Ironically, I know) but I messed it up by trying to duplicate a tag by mistake. Now I can't run it or else Halo 2 says "Sorry, please insert your originial disk". I know I could reinstall it but that would be a pain, mostly because I've pretty modded every other map in a working way.

Where can I get a vanilla copy of the level Gravemind?

And you haven't listened to it, why?..

Anyways, listen to it, the map files are on the disk. The SP maps are compressed, but one of the H2V editing tools decompresses em, so even if the game doesn't do it itself (which it is asking for your assistance in doing), you can do it yourself.

Because that would reinstall the game would it not?

You know that whole thing where they stupidly boot the game and install during that rather than actually installing? because of that, I dont even have the game fully installed. It askes me for the disk every time I load, but I ignore it and go to MP. If I tossed the disk in, it would try and finish. Its developed to copy files while playing.

Since it installed I don't use Startup I just boot it directly, if I ran startup.exe again would it reinstall any missing files?

I just boot directly too, and it attempts to continue installing after begging me for the disk (other than the fact I dont have the disk in the drive, so it cant)

Thats why I would not recommend installing the game with Tray & Play.

Also, always make backups of the Campaign Maps before you modify them.

It does not get any easier than this...

1. Insert Disc into drive.
2. At prompt popup from windows, choose to open the folder to explore files.
3. Right click on the archive (compressed map) you need to restore your map file.
4. Choose to open it with winrar, winzip, 7-zip, etc... to open the compressed map.
5. Extract said map somewhere on the hdd, and copy it over to your install folder on the hdd.

IT DOESN'T GET ANY EASIER THAN THAT!!!!
