a texture from the distance will not dictate if its identical or not. especially a low res one.

I didn't got those texture from that image. Someone gaved me the texture and he told me it's a orginial thorn beast texture.

Well Halomaps users, after a few glasses of wine today i've managed to finish half the map and I optimized the cliffs that had less detail.











Not sure if I'm gonna keep this up, I'm gonna remake the lightmaps I did for CMT last month, i'm not too happy with the results and that will take some time not sure how much time i'l have for this map, but if anyone is interested i can still make a boxed map.

I love myself some good old Spanish wine from La Rioja or Navarra. Like Artazuri Garnacha, Gran Feudo Rosado, Vivanco, Faustino V, and many more. If your short on $$$$ Chilean wine is pretty cheap, and pretty good. I also like myself some Scotch pretty much i like everything that is not carbonated, that's why I don't drink beer, champagne root beer, fanta, 7up , coke or anything related.

a small news about the stargate maps




Hope find someone for lightmap when all bsp will be done.
texturing sgc bsp is done, poly count is above 9800 (2000 for the structure and 7000 for all attached object i know 9000 looks a bad count for this type of bsp but objects are not scenery ), i post there for suggestion about planet for the second bsp.
Maybe Erebus from sg1 season 8 or Abydos ?

Can you show the small objects a little more closely? Is it the red and green pipes there, or are you talking about other objects?

You should try not attaching those lights to the walls (assuming those are the objects), just have them float 'next to' the wall and you will save a ton of polies. It's how I did it for The Pit.

object for sgc bsp:



i was wondering what is the maximum poly count for a bsp scenery included, i seen many topic on game design where a part of objects used for populate the map are directly used on the map model.

my objects don' t had a bad modeling but the accumulation is expensive for the poly count. Now i need to model the other exterior environment with a 10 000 poly budget. To be honest i envisaged to make all object scenery but if my memories is still good the scenery count is limited on the classic halo engine.


Tanks jesse, I take your advice with consideration, currently i m still on the modeling part ( i want to do something good not necessarily perfect but good ). I keep some models for make scenery like stairs, malp, wooden box, weapon case and other stuff.

I don't think MS would care about RPGBeta 6, however I will not be putting it in my game because of that reason, I have 4 full games that I have made now, and they are pretty good so far, I'm trying to currently make one that would be moddable like HCE, anybody know how to do that? I have also added some of the new movement capabilities from Advanced Warfare, and some other stuff that I will not mention due to keeping suspense. I will post pictures and a video of one of my games soon. Until my next update, -Tyler.

If I can get it to work, there will be no limit of what you can put in a map. I never liked limits much, or map barriers, there will be no map barriers in any of my games because people like to explore. If anybody has anything they would like to see in a game, let me know, I can add it.

It isn't the BSP that causes lag, it's more like the hi-res Reach Spartan and all the different objects.

The ramp should be BSP and everything else scenery. If you make all these objects as part of the BSP, you're gonna have a hell of a time battling phantom collision due to the intersecting objects.


EDIT: Unless those objects are render-only.

Halo anti-cheat 2 upgrades the triangle limit to 32k too, and you can also have 1024 (or any number you choose) objects rendered simultaneously with it.
