Unfourntunately, Slashrat's Highspeed internet is now coming sometime in December instead of a week ago. Also Ice dragon is having a bit of problems with his internet, so we haven't been able to communicate with him for about two weeks. We can't start filming until we have a highspeed internet camera man WITH greenscreen knowledge and a map to film on, along with that only two people out of twelve replyed to the general message of sending their files. But we dont need nearly that many people to do the first episode, so if i haven't gotten you info send it to hailstorm2991@yahoo.com.

Well, progress is slowly but surely being made. I just finished making a test render of an alien planet. It took more than 4 days, and has turned into quite the pretty wallpaper. Here it is for anyone who wants it. Unfortunately the site I'm using made the pic smaller, but at some point I'll find a way to host the full resolution image. :)

Sweet. And as of today, 14 days. :) I've been busy with school, and haven't been on xfire at all. Any updates in general? Also, glad to know that our pivotal map-maker o_0 can work again. :P Now, onward, to victory!

Well, think of it this way- in October 2005, I met a few random guys on halomaps and gruntmaps. They were IceDragon and [EJ]Hailstorm. Hailstorm had an idea for a war-of-the-worlds miniseries, and I had just given up on my first mapping project. Since I always seem to need some sort of project to work on, I saw the miniseries idea and latched on. Soon after I began work on the script. Over my entire Sophmore year I wrote in my free time while slowly planning out scenes, music, and characters. The story itself quickly evolved into something completely different from the original concept. Around June 2006 I finished the 28-episode script. Since then we've been experimenting in order to get the best result. There's never really been a specific release date. :P At this point we're almost ready to begin the first episode, and havethe tools and experience to do so in a way that should make everyone happy. In essence, the series may not be here yet, but "it will be... it will be..." :)

There's no way to tell. We'll probably just start filming with the people we have, then see if we need more. In the meanwhile, here's a new pic of North Galteon:

Wow wolf, what time zone are you in?

In accordance to my promise, and since slashrat has doomed himself saying "we will probably start filming with the people we have" I will send out another email to all the recruits to which they will have to reply reply to before I give them the script. I'm not at my home PC right now so, look for the email sometime tonight (east standard) unless slashrat intercepts me.

Don't worry about it, we want to start going soon, but seeing as this series has been pushed back over a year, a few months wont hurt, anyway, i have recently discovered that I can't sign into xfire at all. any suggestions?

Ah. So that's why you aren't on xfire. I'm on for the moment, but try using the "forgot your password" button if there is one. Or just make a temporary screenname.

well from when the idea started to when we released the trailer, that was about a year. I wouldn't call it delayed so to speak because in that time we were getting the script written and maps made. In better words: We were in production for over a year

That should work. Also try the xfire site for troubleshooting:

http://www.xfire.com/faq/

I'll keep in touch with you through email until you get xfire working again.

Hmm... What was the last program you installed before xfire stopped working? Did you change any internet settings? Are you using a firewall that might be blocking the program?

well, how do all of you feel about getting MSN? eh? eh? jk...I wouldn't do that to ya'll, we are getting offtopic, lets just stick to the Dust to Dust topic and I'll try and fix my problem later. I just got an email from em1234 (sound department) and he wants to discuss us converting all the sound to 5.1 surround sound, how does that sound?

I just talked to him. I like the idea, but he's planning on changing the sound file to 5.1 in a very cool music program, which will be somewhat useful, but will take more time. I can separately edit the sound tracks in Pinnacle with a much easier and more efficient system. Although I feel sort of bad for the guy, I also realized that we should probably release the normal versions of the episodes in stereo. If you try to play a 5.1 file on a stereo system, it sometimes loses part of the audio. That's the last thing I want to happen. I can always create a 5.1 version for a special edition, or DVD, etc. And let's not start a discussion on that subject either. Lol.
