hi all
i just downloaded gmax for free and i made a map but now i want to export it but it has to support .ASS files  but gmax has no .ASS so... in 3ds max i know how to do it andt i did the same in gmax but there it doesnt work... can anyone help me? ty dragon Edited by DarkDragon on Jun 26, 2008 at 03:56 PM |

First off, it might be worth giving this a shot;
http://h2v.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=3&fid=2162 I doubt it will work looking at the description, but it can't hurt. Also worse comes to worse, DL the trial version of Max. Export your map as a .OBJ file, import it into Max and then export from there to a .ASS |

i downed the link but i have a max 4.2 in my gmax and this one is for max 6.0 or higher
so i didnt work... maybe i can do it this way : does anybody know where i can download a gmax for free with a 6.0 version of 3ds max in it? thanks dragon |

when i use that exporter it says 3ds MAX version 4.2 detected (in my gmax), thats what i mean.

Basically gmax is just 3ds Max 4.2 with dummed-down features, and that's what it's detecting.

so there is no gmax with 6.0 3ds version?
Then i have to get a .ASS exporter for gmax with version 4.2 of 3ds max... Can someone help me? ty |

I don't use gmax, and this is just a shot in the dark, but would chimp and listener solve this?

i checked out chimp but i find only the one for halo 1 not for halo 2 maps...

Oh, I don't know, then. Unless you do what the person above said and download the Max trial and import your gmax file as an object, then export it as an .ASS.

yea maybe thats the best solution, but then.... do u know if i can dl a trail more than one time?
Such like 1st the version 7 then vers. 8 ... |
