What parts do you find yourself the most interested in? Are you more interested in asset creation or playing with tags, hop into 3ds MAX. Do you like to play with the engine more or tweak specific things inside the game, do those things. Are you interested in animations? start playing with those systems. Find out what you think you would like and go from there, watch and read tutorials and you will figure out what you want to do.
