1) Your tires treads have way too much detail modeled in. 2) Your modeling techniques clearly show that you don't optimize at all as you're going. Look at the center of the rim, those three pointy things don't need to be directly attached, and for that matter, neither do the tire treads. You should chamfer the edge of the tires more. 3) Your bumper bars are have too many sides, 6 and smoothing should be more than enough. 4) See the circle at the rear wheel? That's where I can tell you messed up with your modeling. There are three messed up parts on the wheels, probably because of the way you created the tires from the rims (the edges of which are not consistent) 5) Is the seat cushion modeled in yet? It looks like only the frame is there. 6) Add a winch.

I created a new goose model with what you said in mind. I personally prefer this new one, but if people prefer the old one, I'll fix it up. I'm also considering adding a shotgun to the gungoose version of this, instead of the MGs. Thoughts?

This one doesn't have the axles exposed as much as the other one. It's a much better vehicle shape in my opinion.

Here you go. Just a concept at the moment, but what if I made brute vehicles captured human vehicles that have been modded with covie tech? Thoughts? Edited by theshadow0222 on Dec 2, 2016 at 12:31 AMEdited by theshadow0222 on Dec 2, 2016 at 11:29 AM

Wheel base is too narrow. Reminds me in some ways of those old carts horses used to pull ages ago. The original mongoose had a much wider wheel base as do most ATV type vehicles as it helps with clearance e.t.c

The second version of the rims were better IMO.
These do look like wagon wheels because of these rims.
Also, the border between the tires and rims is weird. Too angled to be realistic. Look at the H3 Mongoose flanker posted.

I think perspective photos are better than orthographic.

Wait he's using ortho?
Oh so that's why the wheels look so darn odd.

Yeah, post renders in perspective, but keep working in orthographic. Not everyone likes to work in ortho since its disorienting to some people if they dont have good spatial reasoning. This is because ortho removes the vanishing point that perspective gives you to mentally sort position and size by distance vanishing.
Orthographic really helps you to keep your edges squared though, which is why I use it exclusively. If you can work in ortho and prefer it, use it.
Perspective is great and all(especially for levels where you have to travel inside them), but when you've got one object to focus on, being able to turn the camera to perfectly line up with the side will allow you to check if parts of the model are out of alignment.

I was just using it since I persistently use the hotkeys to switch to a specific side, such as F for front view, but then I would just rotate the camera out of that position with the mouse wheel and so forth, which in 3ds max, automatically switches you to ortho, so it was convenience mostly.

Only post side/top and front/back views in orthographic mode. Anything else should ideally be perspective.
