So, anyone want a new sniper sound?

Gotta love that Sniper sound, but the DMR needs some work imo. Why don't you try to mix the HR and the H4 sounds and see how they sound together?

Lol, I make my gun sounds from scratch. I don't use pre-made halo ones :)
Oh, and...

PLEASE forgive the lag :( The sound is what matters.

Oh... I thought you were mixing existing sounds! :O This changes everything...
The new Dmr sounds better, the only thing I'd say is that it could be slower and longer, but that's just a little thing. Btw, how do you make your sounds? Do you use Audacity? I'm really interested in making sounds from scratch, and I'd love if you would make a tutorial of some sorts...

Well, I went online and found packs of gun sounds, AND I recorded a lot of them IRL at a local shooting range. I have about 8GB of gun sounds on my Hard Drive XD Then I use Sony ACID (the same software I use to make music) to mix the sounds, apply effects, chop parts off, make reverb etc... then I export as WAV and use the "Halo CE sound converter" from halomaps to just easily tag it without tool. Then I simply use Guerilla to swap out the firing sounds! easy. You can use Audacity, but it's not as easy as ACID... but ACID is not free :(

Cool! I use Audacity for making custom sounds, but most of the time I mix different sounds from various Halo games. I've also made some custom sounds from scratch for a private project (not Halo related) starting from white noise and with the help of some tuts, but that's extremely hard, and sometimes even boring. I guess mixing real sounds and editing them could be better.

BTW, is it against the copyright laws recording sounds from real life videos on YouTube and using them in a stand-alone game? (for example the engine of a plane)

Unless the person owns the copyright for airplane noises, no.
BTW the DMR sound I made is a mix of:
-Colt 1911
-M4A1
-M16
-Vector

Good to hear! Now that you said that, I recognize those weapons. We should definitely make a custom sounds contest!
