I disagree. Holding people to a high standard is probably the biggest compliment you can give them. It means you deem them capable of delivering something really nice, and that they have managed to raise your expectations. Holding them to unrealistic expectations and complaining about them not meeting your expectations in a greatly direspectful manner is what I'm personally seeing as an issue. (especially when said expectations are actually just that they cater to your specific tastes, which is selfish)As I noted earlier, I agree that yes, as long as you do so in a dignified and respectful manner, holding them to a high standard because you know they should be able to meet it is perfectly fine and is certainly a big compliment if you don't go about it the wrong way.

I saw something about you saying that I was complaining and setting high standards or something for this project. Never actually said anything about that... In fact, for this project, you'll note I actually have praise for the way this group of people tackled their goals. You'll find I also praise the structured approach perhaps even more than what the finished project will become, that is really such invaluable experience, and will drive them forward in their future goals.
Ah yes, Shosholozah, as they say.

Quote: --- Original message by: DaLodeQuote: --- Original message by: General_101 I too love avoiding the subject. I do it every day at school but you seem to take it religiously. Heh, I adressed everything people said so far, even when unrelated to the initial "skill and intellect" statement. But when I see a great poster like you completely avoiding the initial statement, there is no reason to dignify it with a meangingful response. The core-subject was simple, and you managed to completely go around it. Dare I say, almost religiously! I recommend you to stick to the traditional "cool" posting. Things appear much more happy that way! Alright? Awesome! Yay! Indeed cool. You hardly addressed anything and then include a pointless attack for no reason. Continue your ad hominem though.

I didn't adress your attempt to derail from the "skill and intellect" core message.
Why would I, you're the spamming type on this forum, as you are illustrating once again. Your messages towards me have contributed nothing at all to the "skill and intellect" topic that very briefly passed by. So indeed it was you who adressed nothing pertaining to the topic. Like a bad politician, you focus on the one part that has nothing to do with it.
But continue your great posts. Shosholoza.

Still stupidly slow, though we're using the extra time to paint over any issues in the lightmaps that are already done. You'd be surprised how many little oddities appear once you start closely examining every corner of the map.
Cool things are happening. Sadly, they're not ready yet. Just hang in there a while longer (that goes to both the team and you guys). Edited by slashrat on Jan 14, 2015 at 05:43 PM

We've waited through the hardest of times and waited this long, waiting for 2 renders and polishes is going to be a peace of cake, so take your time, there's no rush.
