It's too smooth at the moment, and maybe move his right hand to act like he actually released the clip.

Gamma's has way move movement and is a bit better of a copy, so I'm going to side with him on this 'competition.' Here's some tips when showing off an animation: -Don't use motion blur unless you know what the hell you're doing -If you don't know much about lighting yet, just place a simple skylight and don't touch anything else -Make sure you have at least 15-20 additional frames in your render/scene so the actual animation is not cut off when Youtube murders it -Have it be a finished animation, critiquing unfinished reloads and other animations is a pain in the arse, it's not fun, and your work doesn't exactly look very good yet

I like the idea of a reloading plasma pistol, maybe make it shoot blue instead of green as well?

No, they're meant to be that size :P Which ones specifically were you talking about though? I know the green plasma pistol overcharge impact needs a lot of work, but the rest are pretty close to being done.

I liked the effects on the banshee bolts, I always thought that the plasma should be darker blue, exception being the plasma pistol, I could see light blue plasma for that

its a good model, but i dont like the fact that you used extrudes to make it more detailled... tbh it looks more like an edited h3b model, but it surely is a very good start if this is your first

2K polygons, so I am guessing it is 4K triangles. Around.
You should try and make it a LOT less blocky, but you have the basic shape done, looks good.

IGNORE AUDIO xfire still hates me apparently :\ to be honest, a lot of that looks just like what is done to the normal plasma rifle particles when an old particle pack by mythil is added. what looks custom to me is just the overheat and ghost/banshee bolts (which look nice) But the firing effects for the pp and pr look large and terribad (those energy arcs look really big, complex [there should only be one set in a frame, it looks like you have 2 or 3], and bad). I tried for a long time to get a good look myself, combining tons of bitmaps to make them look good together. But, I realized it got much too crowded, and the energy wasn't where it should have been. (the energy is brightest at the source) What I came out with in the end is making just 1 bitmap in photoshop, and using the energy arc bitmap from the CMT plasma rifle, got this: http://www.xfire.com/video/12f213/#unless you weren't showing the firing effects. if you weren't then that's a whole 'nother story. >__> Edited by Invader Veex on Oct 18, 2009 at 11:47 PM

The only thing good about spike grenades, as i said a while back, is that it sticks to the scenery around a person as well. You can only have 2 grenades and people like the sticky grenade better. I also think there would probably be issues with the animations in air. Also the grande would stick on like the handle part perhaps instead of the head of it.
Hasn't seemed like anyone has shown any enthusiasm before when it has been brought up.

- Change your lighting setup. Make sure the left side of the gun is illuminated so we can see whats going on.
- select all your nodes and markers, right click, go to properties and uncheck the box that says renderable. We don't want to see them.
- Ensure that your start frame is the same as your end frame. In this animation, the magazine is not in the same position. You can visibly see it move as the animation replays. This is bad. Its as easy as holding shift and dragging the frame from one side of the animation to the next.
- Your motion is extremely unvaried and boring. Smooth it out, and involve the gun more. It shouldnt be so lethargic.
- work on your finger and hand placement. At origin your left wrist is angled a very strange way. Thats not a very efficient way to control the recoil of an smg. Also, the right thumb is sticking through the gun and the magazine, and isn't gripping the handle at all.
- Your hands visibly clip the gun at just about every point in the animation
^ ^ I suggest fixing the above. Granted that your new at this, it isn't bad at all, but I wouldn't be too cocky.
